Skull Sessions: Open Office Business Workshop

Start the new tax year off right with these basic bookkeeping and business management workshops. Learn how to set up basic business systems, prepare your books, write sales receipts, keep track of cost of goods sold, inventory, accounts payables and invoicing techniques. Meet with various business professionals throughout the month. Learn to balance your ledger and manage your cash flows as your business grows. Bring your business documents along when you attend these business workshops bi-monthly to complete your books with a professional bookkeeper in attendance to answer questions and help you maintain healthy business records. Use Quickbooks online, google docs or Excel; MUST HAVE OWN LAPTOP OR NETBOOK COMPUTER. Skull Sessions can be scheduled after a 30 minute private consultation.

Independent Drawing Open Studio

Ombre Dying
Leader: Gina Kirkorian Ingham
Make your own hand dyed original two toned fabrics at the 100th Monkey Studio. This class will go over the basics of Ombre dying, which is a certain technique that leaves you with a fabric that is multipe toned and looks beautiful. Ombre is a french word meaning “to shade” and is often used to describe a Dip Dye effect given to fabric where the shades of color graduate from light to dark. We will start with the basics, and work our way up to using multiple colors on one piece of fabric. We will start with a simple cotton to get our technique down. Then we will move on to different types of fabrics, learning how each one takes the dye a little differently. Then we can make larger fabric pieces out of linen that could be clothing, a table runner, pillow cases, curtains or just gorgeous hand dyed fabric that you can use for anything! The results are stunning, and you can use this technique to dye or decorate just about anything!

Stencil Workshop
Leader: Gina Kirkorian Ingham
Learn how to make your drawings into a stencil. Bring a drawing if you have something in mind, or draw your concept at the studio. Then we will learn how to make stencils by transfering our images, and cutting out our own stencil. We will then spray paint these newly cut images, making our own patches, T-shirts and fabric. Please send an email with your class enrollment, and let me know what size T-shirt you are, so I can purchase one for you to paint. Feel free to bring all sorts of fabrics or clothing that needs some sick stencil art on it as well! Stencils look amazing on jackets, purses, just about anything. Come make a piece of custom art that you can use again and again.
Cost: $25+$5 Materials Fee

Private Sewing Tutorials
These one on one sessions with me, master seamstress Amanda Myers are available for any skill level, from very very beginner to the more experienced. For years I have heard people around me wishing they could sew. Or friends who "kind of" know how but have never been taught the real basics. I can start you off on the most basic skills or you may request a specific lesson, or bring in project you are stuck on.  I will help you tailor these lessons into exactly what you need, and being private, you will have my total attention.
Sewing machine and basic materials are supplied.
Cost starts at $20/hour
Total cost depends on specific projects and materials used.
Sessions may be from 1-4 hours

Choose from a grand assortment of found objects including metal, wood, plastic, fibers (string/yarn/fabric), tile and more.  This project also includes use of hot glue, duct tape, wire and more for binding.

Choose from a wider variety of water soluable paints including, watercolor, acrylic, tempera, watercolor pencils and watercolor sticks.
This project is for ages 2 & older based on paint type utilized.
No prior instruction from our studio necessary.
$8 per hour for basic tempra or watercolor on paper
$10 per hour for acrylic
