December 2010: The Annual Kimble Memorial Artist,
Joel Kimble, passed away April 27th, 2010. Joel was a dear friend of the
studio and the community. Joel drew his artistic inspiration from his personal
battles with cancer and HIV and frequently built upon themes of hope and
challenge. Joel was also a activist with many causes. The 4th Annual HIV/AIDS show, in memory of Joel, showcases
artist’s work as a way to express their feelings, hopes and struggles in
dealing with their experiences with HIV and AIDS.
Deadline:
Wednesday, November 10th, 2010 5pm. Submission Fee: $5 (*Due at drop off and only to those juried into
show)
Submission Guidelines:
1. An artist may submit 1-5 pieces. All mediums considered.
2. Submissions will be accepted via email in jpeg format to monkeysubmissions@yahoo.com. These
images will also be considered for the postcard representing that show.
Please send quality images, no larger then 400KB.
3. We will not accept forwards to websites for show submissions.
4. Please include contact information (name, address, email, and phone.)
5. All submissions should include a short (one paragraph) written bio.
6. All submissions should include a short (one paragraph) statement of how the
art pertains to the submitted show theme (if necessary.)
7. All submissions should include for each piece of art: Title of piece, date
created, media, dimensions and price/NFS. Submissions that are NOT complete
with the above requirements will not be selected.
8. Deadlines are show specific.
9. Instructions for dropping off and picking up work will come with acceptance
information.
10. All shows will hang for one month.
