Laura Malchow-Hay, Art Boutique Manager
Laura Malchow-Hay
spent her childhood in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Laura received her Bachelor of
Arts degree in Philosophy and Women’s Studies from Beloit College in Beloit,
Wisconsin. Laura has lived in Portland since 1993. She loves living so close to
the Pacific Ocean and the Columbia River Gorge, a favorite hiking destination.
Laura spent most of her professional life in the social
service field. While working as a case manager at the Boys and Girls Aid
Society of OR, Laura met the co-founders of the 100th Monkey Studio
~ Joy Leising, then also a case manager at BGAS, and Beth Ann Short, an art
therapist. Laura currently works in the front office at the Natural Childbirth
and Family Clinic in addition to her position as Art Boutique Manager at the
100th Monkey Studio . Laura is the proud mother of a fifteen year old
daughter, Twyla, and dog Sunny. Laura’s creative endeavors include calligraphy,
soap making, collage/decoupage, and knitting. Laura’s favorite part of working
in the Art Boutique at the 100th Monkey is discovering the many
clever and exciting creative works coming from the Portland art community.
